Australia has continued their impressive run in the T20 World Cup, defeating England by 20 runs to earn their third victory of the tournament.
Batting first, Australia put up a massive total of 180 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Captain Aaron Finch and David Warner led the charge for Australia, scoring 53 and 41 runs respectively. Marcus Stoinis provided the finishing touches with a quick-fire 34 off 16 balls.
In reply, England got off to a strong start with Jos Buttler and Alex Hales putting on 66 runs for the first wicket. However, the England innings fell apart in the middle overs as they lost wickets in quick succession. Liam Livingstone and Harry Brook tried to resurrect the chase with a 50-run partnership, but England fell short by 20 runs.
Pat Cummins was the pick of the Australian bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 25 runs. Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis also chipped in with 2 wickets each.
Australia's victory takes them to the top of Group 1 with 3 wins from 3 matches. England, on the other hand, has suffered their first defeat of the tournament and will need to bounce back in their remaining matches.
