The Texas A&M Aggies defeated the Florida Gators 6-0 in the opening round of the 2024 Men's College World Series on Wednesday.
The Aggies got on the board early with a two-run homerun by Bryce Anderson in the second inning. Texas A&M added another run in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Will Frizzell.
The Aggies broke the game open in the sixth inning with a three-run homerun by Trevor Werner.
Gators pitcher Hunter Barco struggled throughout the game, allowing six runs on nine hits in five innings of work. Aggies pitcher Nathan Dettmer threw a complete game shutout, allowing only four hits and striking out 10 batters.
The Aggies will now face the winner of the Stanford-Vanderbilt game in the second round of the College World Series on Friday.
