Nikki Haley Suspends Presidential Campaign
Haley's bid for the Republican nomination ends after poor showings in New Hampshire and Iowa.
Former South Carolina governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley announced she was suspending her presidential campaign on Tuesday, March 6, 2024.
Haley's decision came after a disappointing performance in the New Hampshire Republican primary, where she finished ninth with only 4% of the vote. She had previously fared poorly in the Iowa caucuses, finishing sixth with 3% of the vote.
In a statement announcing her decision, Haley said that she was "not the right candidate at the right time." She said that she would continue to be a voice for conservative values and would work to support Republican candidates in the upcoming election.
Haley's suspension leaves a crowded field of Republican presidential candidates, with former President Donald Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis among the frontrunners.
