Haliburton to miss Game 3
Injury blow for Pacers as All-Star guard ruled out
Tyrese Haliburton will miss Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals after suffering a hamstring injury in Thursday night's 126-110 loss to the Celtics.
The Pacers star guard suffered the injury in the second quarter of Monday's win against the Celtics and did not return. He underwent an MRI on Tuesday which confirmed the strain.
Haliburton is averaging 19.2 points, 10.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game in the playoffs. He is a key part of the Pacers' success this season and his absence will be a big blow.
The Pacers will now have to rely on their other guards, such as Malcolm Brogdon and TJ McConnell, to step up in Haliburton's absence. They will also need to find a way to replace his production, particularly in terms of playmaking and scoring.
Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals will be played on Saturday night in Indianapolis. The Pacers trail the Celtics 2-0 in the series.
